Bear Canyon Lake

This last weekend we made a quick get-away to Snowflake. It was so very nice to get away from mesa/work. It was relaxing. We went to Bear Canyon lake to go fishing and had a pretty good day of catching trout. There is something about being with family, sitting in the sun by a lake, and fishing that will make all your worries go away. Jessica and Darrel came for a quick visit, Jessica got her pole ready, her hook in and the weights on all by herself. I was very impressed. and She also put the bait on all on her own. Kate was determined to catch those fish (really she was) Laura...may have been a little impaitent with the whole sitting and waiting for a bite..(its okay laura:) Jackie just kept feeding me salt water taffy and peanuts. (fatting me up) Eldon was getting a little ancy because all the girls were catchin more fish then him...(hehe) and Joe was just walking around with a big ol' smile on his face like a 10 year old...just happy to be there:) but we had a great time! Joe's family is so much fun, I love the fun we have with them. Joe caught the most fish..he was even helping everyone else cut their fish off the line,he is some kind of crazy...and I love him. I realized again for the millionth time that i'm not a big fish eater. Even though it was cooked great..theres just something about it, im not crazy about.

my sweet misti

Misti's birthday was Yesterday, but I didn't have time to post anything, so here I go! Misti, HAPPY Birthday! you have been such a good friend to me ever since you beat me up in 5th grade:) You really have taught me how to play sports, how to be a good person, and how to enjoy life and have fun. You are an amazing person and I look up to you so much. Stratton is one lucky fella. And I know everyone is wondering what i'm talking about in the 5th grade... I will tell the story on how misti and I became friends...After school one day I was walking home through the play ground which was right by the bus stop. So I was walking with my cute little backpack on my sholders when all a sudden WHAM,(she had grabbed my backpack and pulled the little loope to the ground and pulled me down with it) I'm on the ground with misti standing over me(probaly smiling). I was like...? thinking to myself what was that for? Anyway I stood up and just kept walking home and we didn't say anything to eachother. haha, kind of an odd way on becoming friends but it worked for us and ever since we have stayed friends. We would play the boys in football, she would make plays and we would run them...haha, we always beat the boys, mostly because misti was on my team. Those were the good ol days! Well MISTI I LOVE YOU!! I hope you had a good one

most valuable player...

I guess its time to add something a little different to the blog besides how horrible an April fools joke can go...Sooo the last few months Joe has been playing on a city flag football team.People get pretty into this league, I guess it's the biggest and oldest league in Arizona. anyway Joe was mvp of the entire league. Which is incredible because there are probably...400 to 500 people playing each Monday night. They are also in the A league, which means it is the best teams/players. Joe had 162 mvp points! The closest guy to those points had 121. It is so much fun to watch him play! Every monday night he come home with a few new scrapes and scratches...what a stud:) i love him! Oh, and the picture is him holding his mvp trophie

who's the fool?

Alright, sooo as you all know April 1st means....April FOOLS...boy oh boy how I had forgotten it was this particular day. Joe got me so good/bad. Joe has class every morning at 6 o' clock and leaves around 5:40... Well at 5:48 he calls me.. and I just KNEW something was wrong because he never calls me that early in the morning. I anwser and joe sounds upset/sad. So I was asking if everything was okay...this is what he tells me..."James was in an accident last night around 11:30 and is in criticle condition, they don't think he is going to make it...Do you think we can leave to Snowflake in like 10 minutes? So hear I am crying my eyes out at 5:50 in the morning getting myself dressed to go to snowflake. I was still on the phone with Joe while I was getting dressed and he was like CHELSEA, APRIL FOOLS.... oh my gosh.. i was so mad. I was crying and tellnig him how sad I was..Then he knew it had gone too far and he kind of realized what he just said, and started getting all choked up. He really felt bad for it later, so I think that tricked turned right around and bit him right it the rear. Well atleast we know we love James...:) Isn't my husband so funny???

thank you.

Thank you Garrett Mortenson, Hollis Merrell, Jackie (Lewis) Brewer, Tj (Stratton) Mariner, Eldon Blair, Lance and Callie Flake, James and Mamma Jackie...I recently learned about Joe's move to Snowflake from Maryland and discoverd these names he kept repetedly saying. This last weekend we went to Utah for Easter Sunday and stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Denhalter. We laughed...we cried...we laughed so hard that we cried, it was truely amazing...I have learned more about Bekah, Joe, Jessica, Kate, James, Laura and Jackie. I really do have the best family-in-law. So strong, precious and enduring. Each of them with such different personalities yet very similar bold, well spoken individuals. Bekah is an amazing mom who is probably the most creative person I have e v e r met. Taking care of her brothers and sisters while mom was out. Wanting to open a shaved ice stand and run a buisness when she was like 15-still Bekahs personality...she is for sure a go-get-er...Joe is strong, put together and the most sincere man I will ever meet. loves james. peacemaker. I know he loves me more then chasing deer :) He loves his mom to the moon and back and has more then enough good reasons why.(he loves her dearly) Jessica is so so nice. She never wants to hurt anyones feelings and makes you feel right at home. Her tiny perfect body soft spoken voice and still stands up for herself. She has such a fun personality too. I love it...she makes me laugh! Kate is wacky and fun. Kate is one of those people who will really listen to you and make a conversation from nothing. So so easy to talk to. She is a picture taking fanatic and a joke-cracker. Fantastic singer and fun maker. James is allll over the place, he can't sit for more then 20 minute intervals. I think he is finally getting into "girls". Go james! not scared of Chelsea. He looks up to Joe and will listen to his counsel. Sports freak and an 5 dollar looser(hehe) Laura is so grown up. she seems so mature. Likes boys and shopping. Great listener and a fun jokester. she is truely funntastic! and as for my last request...Jackie! Jackie is...an amazing mother, wife, cook and grandma. Brynley loves her grandma to death! it was so fun to watch them together, so excited to see eachother. Most and formost I learned that Jackie held her family together when worst came to worst and made light out of it. We talked about Paul on the drive down and the stories just before he passed away. We talked about Her kids and the thoughts that went on in her head on what was happening. The sweetest stories I have ever heard...needless to say I was crying for about two strait hours on the way there and then another 2 strait hours when we arrived at grandmas house talking about it again the next day. I can deffinatly say she is a saint! What a woman, raising her children so well hard working and having them all turn out to be such wonderful kids all married in the temple...(that are old enough:) and just having them so knowledgeable in the gospel and wanting to learn more is just so amazing. I love that she loves spending time with her children. She truely is a wonderful mom. It was nice sharing the stories of Paul. It was like we were talking about him in Grandma's living room and he was sitting down right there with us. I have learned what an excellent father he is. Joe is turning out to be alot like him--from what I hear. Arn't we so lucky for the knowledge of families being together forever. I just want the Denhalter family to know how much I look up to them and thank you for teaching me so much. Thank you for showing me how to be strong and enduring. I have learned a great deal and hope to act on the things you all have taught me. Thank you thank you. I had a great time, great trip and loved learning about the most wonderful Paul...thank you dad...
